Words of Wisdom

Notes from Pastor Tom

What does “grace” mean? How do we obtain it? How does it work in our lives? Eph 2:8-9
For by grace are you saved…God simply chose to expose to you all He is by way of Jesus Christ. He did this so you could obtain an inheritance given by Him. That’s what grace is all about. It is the power of God manifested in our lives to give to us everything that pertains to life and godliness.

John 1:14,17 Grace always precedes truth.
The world does not operate through grace. It operates through merit! That is, you are deserving of what you get. You have earned it by your good behavior. But, that is not how God operates. Grace is UNmerited favor!! You didn’t earn it, it’s a free gift. You can receive it if you believe it.

On the other hand, neither is there anything you have done to keep His grace from you. It brings you forgiveness, peace and power over sin in your life.

Isa. 55:8-9 His ways and His thoughts are different from yours.

Grace’s power. It (grace) is the power of God changing your heart and causing you to be able to think the way He thinks. Grace now becomes the way or method through which God operates. It has to be received as a gift. You cannot earn it.

Deliverance is God’s grace in our lives setting us free from all bondage. God releases grace (power) into our lives to set us free. Freedom is our legal right and God’s love through the life and death of Jesus has given it to us.

From the Desk of Ms. Judy:

A will is read when the person who wrote the will has passed away. We call this the last Will and Testament of the deceased. These instructions list the latest or last desires of the testator, which means the person who testifies of his wishes. This information tells us what the person testifies is his desire concerning how his goods or personal effects are to be distributed.

In the same way, the Bible is the last Will and Testament of Jesus. God tells us what belongs to us and what He has given to us through the death of His Son. The Old Testament establishes the Kingdom of God through the creation of man. God wanted to tell us who He is through His dealings with His Creation. He set guidelines for men to follow simply as a means of punishment for disobedience but giving us an avenue to His blessings.

Then comes the New Testament established not on how well we obey the guidelines, but on how well Jesus did this for us. So we get all the blessings that God has always desired us to have. When Jesus died, He opened the door to the blessings. We discover in the pages of the New Will and Testament just what has been bequeathed to us.

Read these precious Words written expressly to give you abundant living. More than you can ever imagine. Find what gifts have been bestowed on you. You probably are thinking that you don’t deserve blessings, but when you excepted Jesus as Lord, His Blood made you worthy of all His inheritance has for you.

A person who comes from wealth knows that he has a good or great inheritance and is confident in that inheritance. He lives his life in the knowledge of what belongs to him. We also should have a confidence in what our inheritance has given us. The Will has been read! It ALL belongs to you. Live confidently in that knowledge!
